Hot Job Announcement Richland, WA Position Title: Sr. Mechanical Project Engineer (FS97775) Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements: • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in a mechanical or nuclear engineering discipline from a four year accredited college or university. • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the discipline with 5 years or more in a supervisory capacity. • Professional Engineering License required. • Must possess an advanced level of specialized engineering knowledge within the mechanical engineering discipline and have a strong understanding of other disciplines. • Position requires a minimum 8 years experience in process ventilation system design. • Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen. Preferred Requirements: • Master of Science in specialty of discipline preferred. • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience with 8 years or more in a supervisory capacity is preferred. • A minimum of 5 years nuclear experience in DOE high level waste management is preferred. Responsible for providing engineering leadership, guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of engineering within schedule and budget of an assigned project. Develops and maintains close working relationships between the client and other Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Supervising Discipline Engineers on an assigned project. Will be part of a leadership team interfacing with the client and providing project engineering and design agency services to URS affiliates at the Hanford Site. Primary responsibilities: • Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required. • Leads various size groups of engineers, designers and/or specialists. • Complies with companys safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies. • Uses data supplied by the Project Engineering Manager and/or the Supervising Discipline Engineers to prepare a basic outline of work to be completed and establishes a schedule compatible with project goals and budgets. • Develops and documents all calculations for assignments. • Prepares and documents economic analyses and other system studies. • Provides progress reports and alerts Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager about delays and specialized conditions. • Prepares and presents expert testimony before regulatory bodies. • Prepares and makes presentations to client and company management. • Contributes to technical literature in area of specialty. • Assists with the preparation of project scope within a specific discipline. • Works toward alignment of customer and company objectives. • Assists with interpreting codes and permitting as it relates to a specific discipline. • Fully understands the use of vendor documents and can review documents for accuracy. • Ensures quality, quantity, and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks. • Acts with integrity in all elements of responsibility. • Expresses ideas clearly and listens effectively to the ideas of others. • Fully versed in business development concepts and methods and supports the project proposal process. • Understands discipline tools and company cornerstone applications. • Fully versed with the process of preparing and checking calculations as well as the approval, revision, retention, and storage of calculations within a specific discipline. • Fully versed in the collection and/or evaluation of data and information regarding technical and economic factors including physical, chemical, environmental, maintenance, operational, regulatory, constructability, and/or schedule factors relating to a specific subject within a discipline. • Fully understands the use of requisitions and the role of materials management. • Reviews and advises on purchase orders and subcontracts. • Assists with the development of manpower, man-hour and labor cost requirements to aid in evaluating the budget. • Leads estimating tasks and performs material take offs for a specific discipline. • Advanced knowledge of disciplines material costs, equipment and materials lists. • Understands cost analysis and forecasting. • Fully understands the planning and scheduling of engineering tasks. • Understands the project change control process and identifies potential changes. • Fully versed with and can check the work sequence, general content and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services or construction within a specific discipline. • Can integrate all project functional requirements into a complete project plan. • Maintains positive working relationships with peer leaders.
