Hot through SEQ, with Storms spreading through Central and Northern QLD tomorrow (Sunday) • A request to dot for newsfeed, share/tag/like friends and family A Surface Trough is extending along the Coast from NENSW to Rockhampton, then shooting WNW to Mount Isa. An Upper Level Trough is active from Mackay to Mornington Island via the Northern Goldfields. As a result of these Troughs, Instability is expected to build to the East and North, giving Storms a chance of developing. To add to this, a small Surface Trough is expected to develop between Cairns and Townsville, adding to the Instability and Storm potential. • Storms possible along the Coast from Byron Bay to Rockhampton • Storms LIKELY East of Moranbah and North of Richmond, this includes Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Georgetown • Some of these Storms could become Severe, with a threat of Heavy Rain and Damaging Winds (General Storms could contain some Heavy Rain) • Frequent Lightning is expected in Storms - please be aware of this if Storms are in your area • Steering Winds will push Storms towards the Coast • Storms active during the Afternoon and into the Evening, giving Coastal Communities the best chance of a Light Show. Now SEQs Heat: • This Coastal Surface Trough will draw in a lot of Heat from the Interior and partially block a Sea Breeze, allowing Temperatures to quickly heat up • Brisbane is heading for 35, Ipswich/Gatton/Beaudesert 37, Sunshine Coast 35, Redcliffe/Gold Coast 32 • Humidity is going to be active again, and has the potential to make Temperatures feel 3-5ºc Hotter than what the recorded Temperature is showing.
