Housekeeper Aims and Purpose of the Job To provide a safe, clean and comfortable environment in a manner which takes account of the needs and wishes of the service usersSummary of Main Duties 1. Daily Duties 1.1 To work in all areas of the establishment, including the kitchen, carrying out general cleaning duties as required. 1.2 To assist in setting and clearing tables, washing and drying dishes after meals and snacks, loading and emptying dishwashing machines. 1.3 To assist service users and care staff with non personal care tasks as required by the senior on duty, e.g. serving food and drinks. 1.4 To encourage service users to assist in daily living tasks, to offer meaningful occupation, eg. dusting, setting tables 2. Health and Safety 2.1 To work in a way which promotes good standards of health and safety. To adhere to safety regulations at all times, and to work in a manner which is safe for residents, colleagues and yourself. 2.2 To use equipment in accordance with manufacturer=s instructions and safety guidelines. 2.3 To keep equipment clean and serviceable, reporting any hazards or faulty tools or equipment to the Manager or senior on duty. 2.4 To work in accordance with good hygiene principles and adhere to the Companys dress code. 2.5 To attend training in COSHH regulations and use products in accordance with instructions given.3. General 3.1 To keep simple stock records, returns and cleaning schedules. 3.2 To take part in training programmes, staff meetings and supervision sessions as required. 3.3 To carry out such other duties, which may be in the kitchen or laundry, as may be required by the Manager or senior on duty.
