How H E Tommy Massaquoi sees it. God forbid it was a Sierra Leonean Plane (instead of the Malaysian plane) that disappeared, the events subsequent would be as follows; The media shall report news. The Sierra Leone Police shall say that it has not yet been confirmed. The All People’s Congress, Members of Parliament will call an emergency caucus meeting. The President shall give each Parliamentarian TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to look for the lost plane in their various constituencies. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will arrest the siblings of the pilots and question them as long as they want. The President shall establish a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the lost plane. The commission will then submit a supplementary budget to parliament to enable it buy BRAND NEW JEEPS to go up country to do its job Three (3) weeks later, the Commission of Inquiry will conclude its investigation. It shall not release the report but shall simply state, there was no wrong doing. Five (5) weeks later with the plane not in sight and people blaming the government for doing nothing about the lost plane, Information Minister will create a conspiracy alleging that maybe there was no plane. The Speaker of Parliament will believe him and propose a bill in parliament called “LOST PLANE BILL” which shall regard anyone who talks about the plane as “UNPATRIOTIC” AND AN ECONOMIC SABOTEUR. It will be criminal. All People’s Congress Parliamentarians will then call another caucus meeting and demand for extra TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS to go to their constituencies to consult their people about the bill. The LOST PLANE BILL will then be passed. Civil Societies will talk about how unfair and unconstitutional the LOST PLANE ACT is and therefore they will be arrested. The ATTORNEY GENERAL shall write an advisory endorsing the act as constitutional. The Sierra Leone Bar Association will challenge the Act in court. The lost plane will be history. Problem solved.
