How Impeachment works. If I am reading legislation correctly impeachment in and of itself is handled by a high criminal court. Meaning that Impeachment could also cary a prison sentence for up to life and possibly death for the president being impeached. Lets say a president is impeached for (Crimes Against Humanity). This paves the way for a simultaneous tribunal where in he could possibly be sentenced to Death....Sounds like Obama is walking a slippery rope. There are those people who swear that a president holds immunity in criminal court, they are both right and wrong. He can be held criminally liable for actions in a court of impeachment. Also being that he holds the Title Commander and Chief, he could be tried in a separate Military Tribunal. Yes wile it is harder to convict the President of the United States of a criminal offense, he does face the possibility of more severe punishment should they reach the point of impeachment.
