How Our Heritage Can Shape Our Everyday Life We are a son or daughter of God. This automatically means the enemy, Satan, and his army of evil spirits, hates us because he hates God. He will do everything he can to steal our joy and our peace because he wants to keep us distracted and scattered in our thinking. He will do everything possible to keep us focused on ourself so we lose sight of our purpose, which is to love God, ourself and others. The Word says our struggle isnt against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. This means our real fight isnt with the people around us, or even ourself. Our battle is truly with the enemy. We have to be aware of what is really going on in ourself and others, and put the blame where it belongs. When things come up that challenge us, whether it be a situation or through another person, we must remember we are a son or daughter of the Most High God. We have the Holy Spirit to guide us and comfort us. He will help us overcome each situation as it arises. So lets remember the enemy is behind anything that takes our peace and leaves us scattered in our thinking. God takes care of His children.
