How To Build Up Your Relationship And Or Marriage With Words Pro 29:20 KJV Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. Pro 29:20 GNB There is more hope for a stupid fool than for someone who speaks without thinking. Just like runny stool leads to excessive loss of body fluid causing dehydration which could lead to death if not taken care of, a runny mouth can cause same and more harm to marriage. A lot of marriages have been marred by mouth diarrhea. An unbridled tongue is one that says just about everything and anything that the tongue feels like saying. As believers and as wise people, every part of our body and lives are to be put under control. Anything out of control is out of balance and eventually becomes a misfit negatively affecting the equilibrium of marriage. In the natural, a car out of control is dangerous and becomes unfit for the road. (No matter how good the road is) That is why all vehicles have a break system to stop them when the need arises. How do you know if you have a runny mouth? 1. You say things as ‘raw’ as they occur to you. Learn to be wise in communication. Careless, angry and unguarded statements have sparked off wars between nations, while careful words have ended them as well. The same way, there are marriages that have been destroyed with word missiles. When you are talking to your wife, there is a difference between “you did that” and you always do that” 2. You dont care whether your words get your spouse hurt. And that is why your wife often dislikes you kissing her! In her mind, she is replaying all the hurting words and that affects her response to you in bed. 3. You nag. If there was a nagging competition, it is certain you will be among the top five! Solomon, who had a thousand women in his harem and must have seen it all, said nagging can send a man out of his home. Pro 21:9 KJV It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Pro 21:19 KJV It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. 4. You are highly opinionated and must always say something. To you, silence is a weakness. 5. You enjoy arguments and you must always win. You don’t want to stop a discussion until you win or you are the perceived winner. 6. You cannot keep secrets. Everything that happens in your relationship/matrimonial home is in the public domain courtesy of your generous donation and sharing of private issues. Most of the time, it is your spouse that suffers for this attitude. Pro 15:2 MSG Knowledge flows like spring water from the wise; fools are leaky faucets, dripping nonsense. 7. You must let out everything, every time. You do not exercise self-control in any way. You end up empowering your enemy with what to use to fight you in careless conversations. That would not be your portion in Jesus name. That was what happened to Samson Jdg 16:17 KJV That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mothers womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. 8. You over-flog issues. 9. You use harsh, biting words as remarks and comments. A lot of folk with choleric temperaments are guilty of this. 10. You don’t know how to arrange word beautifully to achieve a good result. Pro 12:23 MSG Prudent people dont flaunt their knowledge; talkative fools broadcast their silliness. 11. You have a biting sense of humour and you mostly make your spouse the object of ridicule. 12. You use abusive words. One is no longer sure if you are still a child of God whenever you lose it. 13. Your words are disrespectful and you don’t seem to care. Pro 29:11 KJV A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. Pray now and say: Holy Spirit, teach my tongue to speak right always in Jesus name! -Culled From: Kisses & Huggs Club
