How are we doing on our goal? Saturday is bonus! The higher your intensity when you exercise, the less you have to do...huh? Lets say you walk for 30 minutes at a moderate sustainable pace (you can say about 3 to 5 words before taking a breath). This is great! But lets say you want to push your intensity- where you feel like youre working hard (you can talk, but you dont want to). When you exercise at a higher intensity, you dont have to do as much- you would only need to exercise for 15 minutes. Use this intensity scale to determine how hard youre exercising: 0: Lying in bed 1-2: Watching TV, Desk job, driving 3: Casual walking...strolling...not in a hurry. 4: Walking with a purpose...you have somewhere to be...walking your dog and your dog has somewhere to be 5: Brisk walk. 6. Youre late for an appointment...move it! 7. Youre late for an appointment that is at the top of a hill 8. Youre late for an appointment thats at the top of a very steep hill 9. Youre late for an appointment thats at the top of a hill and a very large dog is chasing you 10. All out effort- Being chased by Walkers Moderate intensity is a 4-6, High intensity is a 7-9, 10 is everything you got! Hope this is helpful! Have a great weekend!
