How can I forget the sounds of the first jets engines and then the explosion? How can I forget running around the 49th floor of 2 world trade telling everyone to evacuate? How can I forget the first and only announcement in 2 world trade telling us to stay where we were (which thankfully we did not do)? How could I forget the moment of impact and the swaying of the building and my first real sense of fear that day? How could I forget all of the posters of heartbroken families looking for news of their loved ones? How could I forget all who died that day? How could I forget the incredible amount of work and effort it took to rebuild? I cannot, I can only hope that our society can learn humanity from the ashes of the horror of that day, and not fear and hate. I cannot forget, I can only express my sympathy, my empathy, and my hope and attempt to be the change that I wish to see in our society and in the world. Dont just remember.
