How can a government fund school Chaplains (religious) but not - TopicsExpress

How can a government fund school Chaplains (religious) but not secular welfare officers. What a disgrace. Religion is a choice. Is the government saying that non Christians lives are less important? Or are they saying that non Christians do not have the moral integrity to work with vulnerable children. I dont mind if a welfare worker has a faith or religion just as long as that faith/religion is not a part of their discussion and assistance. Religion has no place in government - if we do not want Sari Law, we should not want Christian Law. Our Government should always serve the people. If my member for parliament is religious I know this may influence their moral code but I would not expect it to be used against my fellow Australians. State and Church should always be separate.
