How can even the most staunch supporter of our power structure continue to deny just how little value the elite place on the lives of people throughout the world? Or how cavalier the attitude of our power structure is towards the infliction of suffering on countless people, for almost no discernible reason. How can anyone deny that brutality is a cornerstone of our global power, not an aberration? At home and abroad, the government, multinationals, our financial institutions, almost casually, and without even the remotest fear of accountability, cause intense suffering to reinforce control. Ugh.
