How can kids play basketball in the dark? I mean. I couldnt even see the boardwalk and these kids were playing hard! :-) There has to be a better transition from rural schools into a meaningful industry. Meaningful industry -- something that would prompt the kids to take an interest and a ladder to gain a material foundation. How can that be done?.... There are jobs and there is income .... And there is Meaningful Industry. Meaningful ... You like it ... And it contributes to your community and family. .... Stream line capitalism... Make it easier for young people to participate in the world economy .... Hmmmmm.... For Newtok it should be the easiest ... The community needs to develop a $200 million dollar community. But most of the planning and fun are being done by outsiders. Instead of training and hiring local .... The economic and financial benefit of the move and relocation is being realized by outside people. While 30-40 young people walk the boardwalk ... The new council approach: Bring FEMA over and they tell the residents: were demolishing your old house A council of the people of Newtok: If you want your home we will find the men and resources to help you move it. Hmmmmm.
