How can the sādhaka’s body, mind and heart become - TopicsExpress

How can the sādhaka’s body, mind and heart become transcendental, and always engage in the service of God? What can one achieve by performing sādhana? Theres no guarantee. But, if hlādini-śakti’s mercy comes in the heart, one can easily get perfection. People act for the pleasure of others and think that by this they themselves will become happy. This is very small. Hlādini-śakti is unlimited. How to be connected with that potency? What should the sādhakas do to become related to this? Rāgātmika-vrajavāsīs have the feeling that Kṛṣṇa is their son, friend, or beloved. Their relationship then develops higher and higher. One can arrange a Deity of Kṛṣṇa or His picture, but by worshiping Him in that form will pure love come? It is not so easy. Anyone who has love for Kṛṣṇa as His friend, son or servant, or beloved, is always busy in a relative service with a deep mood. Being present near or offering all one’s time and love to such a person, one becomes connected to Kṛṣṇa. Then this love gradually manifests. One will feel, Kṛṣṇa is my friend, or, Kṛṣṇa is my beloved,” or, Kṛṣṇa is my son. This mood will come from the Vrajavāsīs’ hearts. This is the best process. Through this, the essence of hlādini-śakti, pure love, enters the heart. When this essence comes, one becomes very blissful and is always engaged in service. govinda gokūlacandra parama ānanda-kanda paribāra-gopa-gopī saṅge nandīśwara jāra dhāma giridhārī jāṅra nāma sakhī-saṅge tāre bhaja raṅge “Śrī Govinda, the moonlike personality of Gokūla, the lifter of Govardhana Hill, the reservoir of all transcendental happiness is accompanied by the gopālas and the gopīs and is living in Nandagram. Serve Him happily in association with the sakhīs.” From the morning, under the guidance of Yaśodā Mātā and the Vraja-devīs, one will engage in the service of Kṛṣṇacandra. One will be related with Him. He will go to Nandīśvara, who is greater than Kailaṣa Mountain. Nandiṣvara-dhāma is the most exalted. There, Śīva Ṭhākura is present engaged in his service. Going there, one can become related with him and he will bestow tendency to serve. With his blessings there will be no more tension or problem in service. sarvathā dhvaṁsa-rahitaṁ saty api dhvaṁsa-kāraṇe yad bhāva-bandhanaṁ yūnoḥ sa premā parikīrtitaḥ Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 10.60.52 When the affectionate bond between a young man and a young woman can never be destroyed, even when there is every cause for the destruction of that relationship, the attachment between them is said to be pure love. This is the nature of the eternal loving affairs between Lord Kṛṣṇa and His pure conjugal associates.” Love cannot be destroyed by any obstacle. If any means to destroy love comes, love will only increase. It cannot be annihilated. Vraja Bhūmi is filled completely with love for Kṛṣṇa. By going to another place, thinking one can achieve pure love for Rādhā-Mādhava, such a thing is not possible. The maidservants do not think Rādhā-Mādhava is separate from them or far from them. They feel, My heart is for Him, and He is in my heart. This faith and anurāga is very important for the sādhakas. If anyone suffers deep separation from Kṛṣṇa, He will come to cool this heat from the heart of his devotees. He is parama-ānanda-kanda. Happiness can only come from Him. The living beings feel some small amount of happiness and when they lose this, they become cruel and hardhearted. People who have no love or happiness and softness are very angry and cruel to others. They always suffer. They may take wine or other intoxicants but it does not cool them. If love is finished, the living beings potency is finished and they are only dry. Where can that love next come from? Can you fill up an engine with petrol and get this love? When love is fully dry one will commit suicide or go mad. One may jump in the ocean even, because he feels completely dry. Where does love come from? At the time of birth all beings have some love by the mercy of God. This gradually increases. If misused, then it is lost. Such is cruelty. People only kill themselves. They misuse all their love and then everyone rejects them and they feel that life is useless and should be given up. Then one tries to destroy himself. This love is very costly. Where is the filling station for this love? The Guru-varga call us to Vraja. This love is present with Girirāja Govardhana, Nandīśvara, Varsānā and with the Vrajavāsīs. kṛṣṇa smaraṇ janaṁ cāsya preṣṭhaṁ nija-samīhitam tat-tat-kathā-rataś cāsau kuryād vāsaṁ vraje sadā If anyone has love for Kṛṣṇa and the Vrajavāsīs and is always meditating on them, the flow of love can come from them. This flow is unlimited. Śrīla Gurudeva distributed love to all living beings without any diminution of his love for Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa. He never misused his love. He distributed this to all people and they tasted this superfine mellow and became attracted. Śrīla Gurudeva collected peoples’ hearts and brought them to Vraja. Without love, one is dry hearted and very sad. People perform hard austerities or yoga but this does not increase their love and they feel no happiness from it as a result. If one gives his love to ordinary people then it is lost. Such people are like dacoits and thieves who come to steal one’s love. They are great enemies on the path of bhajana. The Guru-varga are very merciful. If they accept a small amount of service, they consider it as very great. If one stays in the holy dhāma and tries to perform bhajana, the Guru-vargas’ hearts melt and they give strength to progress. They instruct one to do arcana, clean, cook and perform all services. Do not think they give any ordinary work. One may work for a company and then run back to his own residence for relaxation. However, by serving in the aśrama or temple of God, then one only gets interest and benefit. More and more you will have desire to serve. Love will come in the heart. Without love, one cannot be humble or sweet. This is not an external show. When the eternal connection and relation comes one will always be pleased, blissful and satisfied. Babies are very happy with the love from their mother, father, siblings, relatives and neighbors. Even if they pass stool in the lap of their mother, there is no problem. When they become young they start to share their love. Then, they control themselves. If one’s love is properly engaged and controlled, it will increase for God. Otherwise, one becomes more and more dry. What is the treatment? If you follow Ekādaśī, then Ekādaśī devī will protect you. Bhakti-devī controls the eleven senses. If you follow the nine limbs of devotion, this controls one’s senses. You will not be overly attracted to physical people, or act like animals. Ekādaśī devī will give a long, strong dam to block the flow of your love. One person tries to become very healthy but has a bad disease and always passes, unable to digest anything. Anything he eats comes out as dysentery. Coming to a doctor, the doctor gives treatment how to properly digest and increase his fire of stomach gases. If one’s love goes here and there, then all ones bhajana, harināma and kīrtana comes out like when one eats bad things. One may try to bind everything in but if there is a little hole, everything flows out. īśvara-svabhāva’—bhaktera nā laya aparādha alpa-sevā bahu māne ātma-paryanta prasāda “Characteristically, the Supreme Personality of Godhead does not take seriously an offense committed by a pure devotee. The Lord accepts whatever small service a devotee renders as being such a great service that He is prepared to give even Himself, what to speak of other benedictions.” If one dances in front of God, performs ārati or kīrtana, touches the pastime places, then even without any knowledge, some flow of mercy comes. A baby has no knowledge, wherever he goes, everyone gives affection. Even if he walks on the street alone, someones heart will melt and she will pick him up. Gods personalities and His family members have so much love for the living beings. But people take this love and misuse it. They get some and think they are qualified and then they distribute it. They speak with people and give them prasādam and then they have love for these ordinary people. Gradually everything is lost. One should only like others for the pleasure of God. One should only serve others for the pleasure of God. There should be no personal relationship. One should act for the pleasure of God and Gurudeva. Then everyone will be respected and affection will be there too. One should not give his love to any other than Bhagavān and Guru. Bhakti must be one-pointed. Be careful. Śrīmatī Rādhārānī and Kṛṣṇa give this love. When this love comes it is our property. When this love is showering down, everyone stays together in one group and is hopeful to achieve Vraja-dhāma. This love is the value. If sand is in one place and a great wind comes then it all blows hither and thither. However, if there is a strong rain, then sand stays together. You should collect everything and reserve it. Dont be soft and sweet to others. Who are your kindness, softness and sweetness for? Reserve this for Śrīla Gurudeva and God. Dont independently use any for the living beings. If they come to God and Guru, this is enough. Have no attachment for them. Also, do not take full responsibility for them. Anything or anyone who comes should be offered to Guru-pāda-padma or God Himself. God promises that He will take care of anyone and everyone that is surrendered to Him. This is the proper process. Sādhakas make mistakes here. They become knowledgeable and famous and think they can care for everyone and everyone is their relative. Then they share their love without any controlling power and lose everything. If anyone can control and reserve their love, people become surprised and say, “How can you control yourself?” What is the question of control? One uses everything for Gods service and then love comes from His family members and one never cries or runs to others for love. When they have no love and affection then people run in the streets searching for this love. If they are fulfilled with love, then they will not look elsewhere for any fulfillment. This is the spiritual flow and energy bestowed by Śrī Gaura-hari and His followers. This love is like a great ocean. Mahāprabhu distributed this ocean of love but people did not know what He was doing. He would chant, ‘Haribol, Hare Kṛṣṇa,’ and bestowed love to all. Anyone who came before Him would receive this love and would no longer run for sense enjoyment. Such a person would no longer have relation with anyone. When Madana-mohana enters the heart, the body and mind loses all sense and is completely enchanted in kṛṣṇa-rasa. Anything else is very bitter. Going distant from līlā-bhūmi for even a second one burns in pain. If anyone comes to embrace or kiss one, it feels like hellish life. Drinking the nectar of the loving pastimes of Gaurī and Syāma, no taste remains for anything in this world. One has no more taste for sleeping, drinking, or doing anything. Everything becomes bitter and tasteless in this world.
