How did General Bantu Holomisa Left ANC....!!! Just a Free Lesson-nyana...,dont Pay, Please.. On 22 May 1996 with the concurrence of the ANC leadership, he appeared before the TRC where he made written and oral submissions on the NP Govt backed abortive coup in 1990 at Mthatha,Transkei . Both Mbeki and Mandela offices were given copies of his testimony a week before he appeared in the TRC . In his testimony , he related the circumstances surrounding the removal from office in 1997 of Matanzima & Stella Sigcau by the Transkei Defence Force(TDF) and how both of them had appealed to Pretoria to remove the Transkei Military govt by force. In his submission he did brief the commission on how Pretoria and Duli were involved in the attempted coup. So his main reason of being there was to pleaded with the TRC to compensate the families of the TDF troops who had been killed in the foiled coup. he had to put into context how we removed Sigcau & Matanzima from power and their subsequent approach to Pretoria which led to the deaths of the TDF members as follows: in the TRC he said: When Chief George Matanzima, then Prime Minister of Transkei, refused to step down as a result of his implicatin in financial scandals, the Transkei Defence Force intervened and forced him out of politics.A new Prime Minister, Stella Sigcau , was elected. We later discovered that Chief Matanzima was paid R2million for exclusive gambling rights. Bank statements were obtained from the Bank of Transkei which showed that some of the senior ministers and Paramount KD Matanzima had each received a sum of R50 000. This created curiosity among the TDF ranks, that is lower ranks including troops up to senior officers,as to why the amount was divided if it was destined for Chief George Matanzima only. On the morning of 31December 1987 , all ranks of the TDF took a decision to remove the government of Miss Stella Sigcau since she was a recipient of R50 000. Wow after this , an astonishing eruption then followed amongst the ANC big wigs. He said astonishing because his submission revealed nothing which had not been publicly known since the coup against Sigcaus government in 1987. However, this was a revelation to the boys & girls from exile,he was vilified in the public in the most unbridled of terms and accused of flouting party discipline. He kept on wondering what interest did ANC had in the affairs of a homeland. Lastly they said he must appear in their DC. As you all know he told them to go jump, that was the end of himself in the ANC. Nothing More, and Nothing Lesss.........
