The Story Of Ramayana- sri hari Vishnu,when informed about a lot of evil forces working on earth in the name of demon king ravana,took avatar as sri ram and goddess laxmi as his wife sita and wove a story of the path of life to set an example and put an end to ravanas evil reign on earth. sri ram ,the king of ayodhya,was sentenced to 14 years of exile from his kingdom alongwith his wife and brother by his stepmother an dthe then queen mother of his kingdom.sri ram and his wife sita went into the jungles of central india and lived as sages. one day the demon princess,sister of ravana,surupnakha saw sri ram hunting for food in jungle and took a fancy for the hsome sage prince.she went to him as a very bful lady and asked him to marry her,when he refused and told her hes married,she cursed him and went to her brother demon king ravana aking him to take revenge on him by abducting his wife sita. ravana,disguised as a holy saint,went to sita when sri ram and laxman went hunting for the golden deer in deep forest but marked a line of protection for her and asked her not to cross it,for anyone. ravana disguised a very holy pious saint,asked sita for alms and she tried to refuse but he insisted and his persistence wouldnt end.when she tried to comply and brought him alms,he urged her to cross the line and then give him the alms.sita ,trusting him as a pious saint and holyman,made the mistake of crossing the line of protection and went ahead to give alms to who she thought as a saint. ravana,immediately threw off the disguise,took her by her arms ,dragged her down to his flying vehicle and took her off despite all her pleas to his kingdom of lanka. sri ram when came back couldnt find his wife home.and was terribly heart broken.surupnakhas plans had worked.and now a home was broken.sita refused to marry ravana despite all his efforts and forces.sri ram searched deep forests in mad desperation for his missing wife.and finally with the help of wild beasts and monkey king and hanuman,the protector,found the way to lanka. a great battle was fought between sri ram and the demon king ravana ,in order to free sita.after mighty efforts and lots of war,sri ram was able to kill the demon king ravana,who was survived by his own wife,mandodhari,who had repeatedly deterred ravana to marry sita and prayed to release her back to her husband. finally the married couple was united and they returned home,to their own kingdom.hence the story of Ramayana. jai sri ram.
