How did I come across Faster EFT and why is it still the only method I use? My interest in the abilities of the human mind unknown to most people began in my childhood. At first, I dreamed about having super powers like Superman so that I could defend myself, achieve any kind of goals, and help other people. Then, in about 2005, I started reading José Silvas book about his mind control method, which I expected more intelligence and self-confidence from, so that Id be able to empress other people and make them love me more. I kept reading the book for a while, but I wasnt sure I applied the described techniques correctly. I thought that if I reached the meditative state of mind where, according to the book, I could program my mind to do anything (i.e. went to the alpha level of mind), I must see everything I visualise as realistically as it actually was before my eyes. (As it turned out during a training later on, it doesnt necessarily need to be true.) Now and again I would pick up the book and try again, but I couldnt make any significant success with it. The next milestone for me was the film The Secret, which I first saw in 2008. It made me realise the existence and mechanism of the law of attraction: anything we affirm inside us is what we attract into our lives. According to the film, its enough to take conscious control of our thoughts, replace the bad ones with good ones, and add positive feelings to them. However, although there were occasions when I noticed change in the behaviour of people around me when I changed my thoughts about them, the negative emotions were still there and my old thought patterns would be restored shortly. I just couldnt believe I could be able to really change my life – especially my relationships with others, my self-esteem, and my depression that started to develop at the time – or to make sure I really get what I expect from life. Then, I looked up the quote thoughts become things from The Secret on the web, which led me to a website (called Fear to Freedom), which I subscribed the newsletter of. There, I was offered several webinar, including Healing with the Masters hosted by Jennifer McLain. Basically, it was a series of interviews with practitioners of modalities that help mental healing. Although I heard several pieces of good advice and wisdom, what actually caught my attention was the interview about EFT. I used EFT for one and a half years. The idea of eliminating all negative emotions with one technique that works for everyone was phenomenal to me, so I started watching videos and listening to webinars about EFT. Even though I could make some changes (such as greater self-esteem and less anxiety), I felt all of these to be temporary. So, after 1.5 years, depressed and utterly desperate, I saw an EFT practitioner in a nearby town. Our second session ended with her telling me that I had too much resistance in me, so I needed to tap on myself for several weeks, alone. Of course, that took away more of my enthusiasm (and hope), but lucky for me, I learned about the real solution the week after. I was already subscribed to a Hungarian newsletter about EFT, and I found that Faster EFT was mentioned in one of the letters. At first, I didnt care, because I thought that it was basically EFT with a unique name for promotional purposes. But the next letter described what you should do if you couldnt watch one of Robert Smiths YouTube videos with Hungarian subtitles (created by Kati Dávid). And so, I decided to watch that, and, among the related videos on the right, I clicked on no. 323. The result: intense emotions with tears. I also noticed that Deirdre Maguire taps differently from the classic EFT style at the end of the video, which was mentioned among the comments, too. Robert himself answered that thats because the whole method uses less meridian points. I went to the website of Faster EFT, then, and I read that it doesnt matter what you say while tapping. I was like, “this is f*cking awesome!” I instantly dumped traditional EFT and began using this one. (It wasnt uncommon that it took me 5 minutes just to think about what words to use before starting to tap, whereas I can start doing it right away, automatically, with Faster EFT.) I took me about another year to get rid of my depression since I either repressed a lot of emotions or I had such a great resistance to completely feeling a certain problem and tap on it on my own accord. Thats why Judit Szappanoss help was invaluable, who as a practitioner generously tapped on me almost weekly. Beside that, I achieved significant changes in other areas of my life as well, for instance, Im tolerant toward other people, I can be kind to myself, and I can feel good for no reason. I feel that the more I tap the sooner things change, one by one. I dont want to state that the rest of the modalities or teachings out there are wrong or bad, but I still feel that its Faster EFT that really works for me. You can consider it as a technological advancement, where the Silva Method and EFT were the ideal modalities for clearing out old hurts and beliefs – which is key to be able to live a life somebody wants – at the time of their appearance. However, now in 2014, I think that you cant really find anything simpler than Faster EFT, which at the same time works, whether you believe in it or not. You dont need to read hundreds of pages of books or to be involved in anything mystical to get a handle of it. Whats more, you cant do it wrong either, unless you dont use it. Persistence is the most important factor, but I believe its essential for every other method, too. Thats why Im proud to be a Faster EFT practitioner.
