This page has been created to help high school players, interested players of all ages, as well as any person interested in learning about the game of golf in the Northern Illinois/Rockford Area. In the future I will hope to display on this page information about programs for all levels of players of the game of golf. I also hope to provide information on tournaments for those interested in improving their golf game through competitive play. Along with presentations on instruction of all facets of the game of golf. My background: Started the Byron High School (Byron, Illinois) Boys and Girls Golf Programs in 1997. Retired as Head Boys Golf Coach at Byron High School in the fall of 2011. Team and Individual Records: Dual Match Record - 182 wins. 21 loses Tournament Record - Finished in the top three of all regular season tournaments in 65% of all tournaments entered State Tournaments - nine regional championships, two sectional championships Third place 2000 Class A Team and State Champions Class 1A 2007. Nine state team tournament appearances, seven top ten finishes, and five all state golfers Golf Careers: Four former players currently either certified P.G.A. teaching professionals or are currently enrolled and working to complete the P.G.A. program. Three former players working to be accepted into the P.G.A. or L.P.G.A. programs. One former player in the G.C.S.A. program. CURRENTLY: A teacher with the Lloyd McWilliams Golf Academy, Rockford, Illinois. Golf instructor with the Rockford Park District, Rockford, Illinois. Twenty-two years a junior golf Instructor under P.G.A. Professional Steve Murray and P.G.A. Professional Ken Ledene at Prairie View Golf Club in Byron, Illinois. Specialty areas: Practice organization, short game/putting, full swing, Rules Education, Course Management, and Mental Game.
