How disappointing. Weve been in Charleston a year, and this - TopicsExpress

How disappointing. Weve been in Charleston a year, and this christmas is the first time Im really shopping for musical gear since weve been here-- we have a burgeoning piano player in the family and need a better keyboard or piano, I need a new electric guitar and some accessories, I had a friend recently asking about drums, so I was looking for some good recommendations, etc. So when I broke a string today, I thought- Awesome, we can go check out the local shop and see what they have. We literally were shopping for every single item they have in that store-- guitars, amps, keyboards, drums--- Molly even mentioned that she wanted a violin lately. I was literally shopping for every item that they carry-- and the dude that I had to deal with has ensured that we will never step foot back in that store. Not only was he rude and disrespectful for absolutely no reason, he decided it would be best not to inform me of what they charge to restring a guitar, and then laugh at me in a very snide manner when I looked at my receipt and said huh, the place I used to go to didnt charge for that. wont be doing that again. Ill say this-- I dont care if they charge to restring instruments-- thats a business decision that they have the right to make. And I have the right to make the decision not to pay them to do it. Its really ok with me that they do that-- it is not ok to me to be treated that way, however. I wasnt rude, I wasnt snide, I didnt give anyone a hard time, I didnt complain, etc. But seriously, between what I am looking for at the moment, what I will need over the course of time that I live in Charleston, and the recommendation to my friend now and friends later, potentially many thousands of dollars just walked out of the door forever. Ill say this as well--- thank you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach my 12 year old son how to remain calm and composed, and still not get trampled, when someone acts completely inappropriately. I am very grateful for having the opportunity to show him by example. And I will definitely be speaking with an owner before very long.
