How do we call on the name of the Lord? Rom.10:13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Many people believe that calling on the name of the Lord - for the alien sinner - is done through prayer but lets take a look at some Scripture and see if thats true or a false doctrine that has led many down the wrong path. Rom.3:4 says ...let God be true but every man a liar. When man teaches a doctrine that doctrine may be false, but Gods word will ALWAYS be true. The question is which are we going to follow, the false doctrine that weve based our lives on, that maybe our parents believed and taught and that will lead us astray or the word of God which is able to save us (James 1:21)? Now how do we call on the name of the Lord? Micah 3:4 says, Then they will cry to the Lord, but He WILL NOT hear them; He will even hide His face from them at that time, because they have been evil in their deeds. Zechariah 7:13 says Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen, says the Lord of hosts. And John 9:31 says Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. Rom.3:23 says For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So since all have sinned and since all are sinners just who does or will God hear and how can we - according to Rom.10:13 - call on Him? First take another look at the last part of John 9:31 which says, ...and does his will, He hears him. A false doctrine that many people believe is that a prayer will save them, that prayer is part of Gods plan of redemption. I will sign over the title to my car if anyone can give me a book, chapter, and verse for the sinners prayer. Where are the Scriptures that tells the alien sinner that prayer will save them? The best example of what is involved in calling on the name of the Lord for the alien sinner is Saul of Tarsus that is found in Acts 9:1-19; 22:1-16. I WILL FINISH THIS ON ANOTHER POST
