How do you know if he’s the one? “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6 So you met someone and he seems pretty nice. He treats you like a queen and respects everything about you. You’re attracted to his smile, his heart, his handsomeness, his work ethic, and even his credit, but before you allow yourself to fall in love, you ask yourself that question we all ask, “How do I know he’s the one?” The Bible offers beautiful wisdom on this very thing. God says, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” These are two qualities of a great catch. And it’s not one without the other, both are necessary. First, is he godly? Does he have a real relationship with God that impacts how he lives, how he talks and how he decides? Does he love God more than you and does he love you more than himself? If so, he’s godly. Then there’s contentment. Is he happy? Or does he need things, people and accomplishments in order to feel good about himself? Do you find a significant change in his attitude when things aren’t going well or is he overall smooth sailing no matter what? If so, he’s learned contentment. And these two attributes together are what makes a quality person that would be of more value in your relationship than anything. And while you’re asking yourself these questions about him, be sure to ask yourself the same. Are you godly and are you content? Possess these qualities within yourself and you will be gorgeous from the inside and a tremendous asset to one very, very blessed man. Prayer: Father I love You. Thank You for how sweetly You love me. Help me to be godly and content. Not just for someone else, but for You. For me. And help me know when I’ve met Your man for me. I pray that he’s both godly and content. In Jesus name, Amen.
