How do you spend your tax refunds? Many people put those dollars - TopicsExpress

How do you spend your tax refunds? Many people put those dollars to work locally, by buying necessities like coats and boots, having cars repaired and getting caught up on bills. Thanks to the volunteers at 29 different Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites across the state, people earning $52,000 or less have access to free tax prep services. The opening of local VITA sites was celebrated last week at the Woonsocket Museum of Work and Culture and this morning at Federal Hill House. Since 2005, low- and middle-income Rhode Islanders have claimed more than $92 million in tax credits and refunds with free tax prep services at VITA sites supported by United Way of Rhode Island.
