How does one prepare for the loss of loved ones in their family. - TopicsExpress

How does one prepare for the loss of loved ones in their family. Do you dwell on their illnesses or bask in the years of memories and pictures you have collected. My wife Jenny and I are faced with such dilemma. It is with a saddened heart that we must part with our two fur babies that we have been able to enjoy for the last 12 years. Daisy was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer that has spider webbed her lower left jaw. She was only given 3-6 months if we to do nothing. We were told by our vet that she (daisy) will let us know when she was ready. The last few days she has hardly eaten and has started to distant her self from me only to lay in another room drugged up on pain meds. Shelby on the other hand eats fine yet has severe arthritis in her hind quarters and right front paw. Shelby is fighting through so much pain on a daily bases just to get around and go outside for potty. The Spirit is so willing but the body is old and no longer able for happy mobility. They have been together for all their happy 12 years with us. They are each others sole companions. When 1 was in the hospital the other would mope and would be unhappy till the other got home. With this said we are having to put both to rest together on Wednesday July 24th. The only comfort for now is knowing that both will be pain free and God willing will be greeted by family members who have known and loved them. I will enjoy Tuesday chilling and loving them. I close with this that a coworker told me. Heaven is the place where ALL the dogs you have ever had the pleasure of loving will be waiting to greet you at the Gates wagging their tails.
