How encouraging to read this review of Hyper-Grace, entitled, Grace Is No Longer a Bad Word. This too was a major reason for writing the book! Having had some very bad experiences with being attacked for legalism much of my life by people who are involved in what Dr. Brown terms the hyper-grace movement, I have grown to actually flinch when someone begins telling me about Gods grace. I hadnt realized how bad this had gotten until I read this book: as overused as the phrase is, this whole book was a breath of fresh air. Dr. Brown has articulated with compassionately logical clarity how the truth of Gods grace as God himself shows it in the Bible is not the grace of the hyper-grace movement today. For me, this presentation of Biblical truth restored the wonder and the beauty of Gods grace as it actually is instead of the mish-mash of emotional uselessness Ive gotten so tired of being beaten over the head by.
