How exciting it is to connect to another person through a picture. Some time ago I posted a picture of my grandmother, Florence Sundy, with another young lady, a Miss Cree. The picture was published in a newspaper in Pueblo. I was trying to find the identity of Miss Cree. I couldnt figure out how my grandmother, a young woman living on a small farm in rural Perry County, Pennsylvania, came to be a visitor in the home of the Cree family in Colorado. While going through an old box of pictures yesterday, I found an additional photo of Miss Cree. On the back was written Tacie Cree. This being an unusual name, I plugged it in to ancestry. com. I found a woman who had Tacie in her family tree. It seems that Tacies father was from Tyrone Township, Perry County, PA which is where my grandmother was born and raised. I still dont have the answer as to how she ended up visiting the Cree family in Colorado, but I was able to share the pictures with a descendant of this family. I think the pictures are lovely so I am reposting the original along with the newly found portrait.
