How it must have shattered our Creator’s heart…when the one known to have been the most beautiful angel of all – Lucifer…the “Morning Star”…”Bringer of The Dawn”…turned against Him…and led countless others – both angel and human – to betray Him, as well… How it must have broken our God’s heart…when an entire legion of angels chose the unfathomable…to side with Lucifer and rebel against Him…the One who gave them life…those whom He created to adore Him and serve Him in His beautiful Home…and so soon after Creation… How it must have crushed our Lord’s heart…when these lovely celestial creatures…who beheld Him…face to face…who enjoyed His magnificent, unhindered presence…who were bathed and embraced within His love and glory…would choose their own arrogance over Him… How it must continue to deeply wound His heart…as He has watched, over the centuries, these once-glorious beings…now turned demonic and vile…afflict with their hatred, ugliness and filth…those whom He loves…those whom He created in His own image…and again…so soon after Creation…beginning in the Garden… Satan would stop at nothing...tempting God Himself…tempting our Lord in His vulnerable humanity….tempting Jesus to put aside the plan of Salvation for mankind...in order to satisfy His physical and emotional desires and needs as a man…I cannot ponder anything more disgraceful and disgusting… All of the trouble…all of the heartache…all of the pain…all of the blood-shed…all of the tears… The taintedness…the sickness…the brokenness…the groaning…of Creation itself… All because of one, rogue angel…delighting in himself…drinking in his own beauty…envying, coveting and stealing from His Creator…betraying…falling…and taking many others with him… How it is possible for any such being…who has looked into His beautiful face…experienced the full radiance of His glory…been surrounded and enveloped by His presence and love…how could they then betray such love? Our wondrous God chose to suffer unimaginable agony and humiliation…to bleed and die upon on a cross…because of what this wicked creature set into motion…and because He loves us so much, that He would die for us…to make things right again...to take us to His Home…where those fallen angels had once enjoyed Him… How it will grieve His heart to condemn them to the Lake of Fire…but there is no chance for redemption…no excuse for rebellion…for those who have once delighted in His unhindered presence…and that day is drawing near… What a tragedy…it is monstrous…it is beyond comprehension…
