How many diets have you tried? How many of them have worked long term? Which diet is truly the best? Whats the miracle solution? Today Im going to tell you the secret! Today youre finally going to know the answer - and you dont even have to sign up for personal training to know! The absolute best diet..... ...doesnt exist. Disappointing, isnt it? Fitness doesnt come in a pill. Health doesnt come in a bottle. Fat doesnt melt away when you exist on shakes or so called meal replacement candy bars. If you want to lose weight and keep it off youll need to do the two things youve known all along that you truly need to do - eat well and exercise. Youll note that I didnt say diet. You need to eat WELL. Lose the pills, toss out the fake meals and start to eat real food. Food with ingredients you can pronounce! Stick to the outside perimeter of the grocery store. Thats where youll find the fruits, vegetables, dairy and lean meats. The inner aisles are where all of the processed foods live - this is what you want to avoid. Take the time to learn proper serving sizes. Learn the difference between healthy carbs and bad carbs. STOP THINKING OF CARBS AS THE ENEMY! (sorry...I didnt mean to yell, but for the love people...carbohydrates are needed!) Learn why your body needs fat. Learn why fat free wont help you lose fat. How? Hit the library and spend a few hours learning about nutrition. Meet with a personal trainer at your local gym (hey Ute Pass people - thats me! Give me a call!) Schedule an appointment with a nutritionist. At the very least, use the internet to research proper nutrition. And that my friends brings us to your week one day two assignment: Sign up for a free membership on myfitnesspal and start tracking what you eat. No, nobody enjoys tracking, but commit to doing it for one month so that you can educate yourself on proper portions, and learn which foods break down into which categories - protein, fat and carbohydrates. MFP makes it easy to enter products, restaurant items and even your own recipes. And its FREE. All of the workouts in the world will eventually be a waste of time if you arent fueling your body properly. Let this be the year that you quit searching for the miracle cure and accept the fact that there just isnt one. Commit to taking care of your body. Someday starts now. Right now.
