How many of us know about Benny Goodmans brief flirtation with bebop? Here he is in Philadelphia at the Click Club in 1948. Clarinetist Stan Hasselgard is also on this one. He was a Swede and among the very first to play bop clarinet. Came to the USA circa 1947 and was getting as popular as one could get in bop in those days. Tragically, he was killed in an auto accident a a year or so after this recording was made. BG follows Teddy Wilsons solo at about 3:15. Hasselgard solos briefly at about 4:20.
