How many of you EVER ask God for something? How quickly do you get upset if your prayers are unanswered? In my quiet time this morning, I had a whole list of requests... and then the Holy Spirit knocked me upside the head! “If you LOVE me, you will KEEP my commandments, it says in John 14:15. You are always wanting God to do something for you, but what are YOU doing for God?! Thanks to some good friends, some sinful areas of my life were exposed. I then read in James 5:16: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a RIGHTEOUS person is powerful and effective. Perhaps, we should clean up our own life before we start asking God for things. I know that when I come to God with a pure heart and clean conscience, I can focus on the people around me that need prayer. When Im selfish and sinful, my prayers are self-focused and empty. Jesus gave up his LIFE for us. Think we can give up our sin?? The power of the Holy Spirit is greater than any SIN. Ask for his conviction. Ask for discernment, wisdom & direction! He will give it to you. Lets show obedience over sacrifice today. You are loved. Youve been challenged. Response is up to you.
