How many times in my life have people turned me down? Ive met different types of people through the years. There are those who push you into doing ministry among the poor people in far places with an emotional promise of supporting you while staying in the mission field. I never got a single letter or drop of support from them. There are those who weep and pray with you as you approach the altar for commitment. They would present you to the people and speak big words of partnering with you in the field, after that Sunday, you are part of their history. There are those who promise to assist you and guide you. But when the work of the ministry became more intense, they suddenly leave you behind and leave you hanging in confusion. There are those who speak big words of support towards the call of God in your life. Call them when you need anything, was their bargaining plea. Afterwards, they are no where to be found. There are those who support you who later on want to turn you into a pawn on a chessboard. They dictate to you what you must do for them, reminding you of the support they have sent you. By the way, I never asked from them. They approached me and introduced themselves. They all had ulterior motives. They never really supported you. They were investing in you with a desire for future gain or exchange of favor. Manipulators. They are dangerous partners. They try to put you in a string and become your puppetmaster. There are those who use you to their gain as a promo to raise missions support and awareness, which will never be sent to you. I say a big ouch to that. There are those who support you and later, it gives them the right to bash you, gossip behind your back, and make up lies towards you. Who stands by you whenever people treat you wrongly? They not only hurt the servant of God, they also hurt their family, the ministry they represent, even the church they belong too! Who stands by you and never lets you go? ONLY CHRIST!
