How much of your stress, frustration, disappointment, anger, - TopicsExpress

How much of your stress, frustration, disappointment, anger, irritation, pissed-offedness comes from one little thing? Almost all of it comes from your expectations, and when things (inevitably) don’t turn out as we expect, from wishing things were different. We build these expectations in our heads of what other people should do, what our lives should be like, how other people should behave or think … and yet it’s all fantasy. It’s not real. It doesn’t depict true reality or the truth of life and how it works. Learning to let go of our expectations seems like a rather insane concept to most of us, we have been raised and indoctrinated with outcomes of anything we do are the most important thing in life. The concept of letting go of expectations doesn’t mean to not try and improve the self or help others improve their life situation what it means is to “act without expectation”. This basically means to know that when we act we can influence the outcome of things but rarely if ever can we control the entire outcome, that we do not have control over, no matter what. A concept called synchronicity when means that everything will unfold and happen it its own time, we as native people are intimate with this concept, we know that everything has its own path and own timetable or journey. Keeping these concepts in mind we can free ourselves from the misery of trying to control the uncontrollable, We can do the best we can to help and make things better but we can do so without expectation of a certain outcome because as stated earlier we have absolutely no control over most things. Act without expectation is a skill that takes time and practice, but it is possible to have love and compassion, help and be kind without getting caught up in trying to control the uncontrollable. This concept will bring you great peace in your life and make your experiences so much more pleasant.
