How our Government works: Ousted president Mohamed Morsi - TopicsExpress

How our Government works: Ousted president Mohamed Morsi has 5 children, and of the five, 2 were born in the United States. By Egyptian law, a minor can keep their nationality until the age 21, after you turn 21, you have a full year to decide whether you want to maintain Egyptian nationality or not. The 2 children of Mohamed Morsi have passed that timeframe without any mention of their nationality position. Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim’s decision to revoke their nationality is being considered by The Board of State Commissioners at the Administrative Court. They, however, have said that Ibrahim has invaded authority of the cabinet. Lawyer Mohamed Salem even filed a lawsuit against Morsi’s two children. Bringing this up after a year and a half of protesting, massacres, killings, violence, injustices, and so many other horrendous human rights violations is utter bull. Why doesn’t the Minister of Interior do the other half of his job: providing national security? Surely, there is no other era Egypt needed it then now! This is the way many governments work nowadays: You want to commit an atrocious crime; you do it by concealing it from the public constituents by bringing up something completely useless and senseless. For example: the Syrian War. Many people were blind from it because of the Paula Deen controversy and the Treyvon Martin case which was going on around the same time. I’m not saying that killing a black person and saying the N word isn’t awful. But, why bring up a racial case to a national level when it has been going on since this country was founded? Why bring up a celebrity who said the N word over a decade ago on the television when it’s advertised in our music industry? It’s nothing more than diverting us from REAL tragedies across the world. And that…THAT’S how our government functions, works, and survives.
