How serious are we about getting kids active? Taking this subject as seriously as we do, there comes a time when we have to consider the viability of all the tools in front of us to get to our goal: a nation of healthy children who are active for life. The question on our minds is this: should we legislate activity for children? The article posted below, from the Globe and Mail, makes (we believe) a compelling case and brings us to a timely conversation about the role that legislation plays in helping us achieve this (very, very important) goal. Heres the situation: We know that kids are increasingly inactive. And that the situation is not improving. And that the evidence is clear and undisputed that activity improves physical health, cognition and learning outcomes and emotional well-being. So what are we doing about it? Here at the Club, were all about solutions to this problem. This program was devised to tackle it directly. What do we know? We know that its the right thing to be doing. And that its working/ And that we need your help. If we are going to get there, we need a big community of people who care, taking action on several fronts, to make this our new reality. You know how we feel. Wed like to hear from you: Has the time for legislation come?
