How soon can we tell if we are compatible with our new date? Looking back at those relationships that did not work, I can easily pinpoint all the signs that were present from the very beginning which were clear indicators that the person was not for me. When time passes by we can look at things more clearly without involving our feelings. The question is... why do we ignore those obvious signs that tell us we are heading towards the wrong direction and insist on making things work? I now realize that a lot of times we would rather feel loved, worthy and accepted by others rather than sharing a relationship with somebody who is compatible. We insist on making things work because we want to prove ourselves that we are worthy of being loved and by doing so we sacrifice our inner balance, stability and peace. My best lesson so far has been to understand what Love is and I have put that in practice by remembering what it is like to love myself. This has certainly been my most satisfying relationship so far... one with myself. It feels great to meet other people who love themselves as well. We think this should be something innate in all human beings and it is but we seem to have forgotten what Love means and got obsessed trying to find it anywhere but within ourselves. Certainly the best time invested is in cultivating self love and the outer world will move its pieces to accommodate our new reflection. No need to try to find that special person anymore, it all works itself out, it always does, it always has... ~Sol Aurora~
