How time flies when you have fun. My time in Berlin was from Jun of 79 to Jun of 83, time spent at the SATCOM terminal at Andrews. I came there as the hot shot know it all on the new digital subsystem that was being deployed to all of the SATCOM locations around the world, why the hot shot, I left Ft. Huachuca as one of the instructors on the subsystem. I was married to a 32D who worked the tech control and she was one of he biggest pain in the butts for us SATCOMers when circuits whet down, I also had to put up with it in Okinawa also. She went by the name of Pooh. Departing Berlin I moved on to other things to finish my 20 year career, became a CW2, was part of a test and eval unit testing new off the shelf equip in support of CORP level and above units. Went to a MI unit in Korea where I ran into one of the analyst that use to work on the hill in Berlin. I ended up at Ft. Ord to complete my round robin of assignments. I retired as a CW3 as Desert Storm was going on. These days are spent working for a global company in the communication business supporting Sprints transport and wireline networks. Re-married, now have 9 kids, 5 grand kids and 3 great-grand kids, one grandson just returned from Bahrain and I am now 5 years out for my second and final retirement. Dang that was a mouth full, I will let everyone digest that for awhile.
