How to React When Someone Insults our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) How to react ? Current events and the actions of a few have thrust Islam and Muslims into the global spotlight again. Freedom of speech and other western values are clashing with Islamic beliefs of respect and submission. So how does one who is faced with the insult of the Prophet (PBUH) react? First of all we should ask Allah for His vast and everlasting Mercy and Forgiveness. Those who insult our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) have never met or seen him but they are fully aware of him through our actions. So, we as Muslims have totally failed to convey the True Massage of Islam to them, which resulted in occurrence of such events. Such insults cannot change the status of our beloved Prophet (PBUH) in the least. Allah (SWT) is All-Sufficient to protect His beloved Messenger (PBUH). He (SWT) says: “Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers.” (Al-Hijr 15:95) But such insults are a clear warning from Allah (SWT) to His salves about their failure to convey the Message of Islam. Be Patient: In this day and age, Muslims are too emotional as they themselves insult and commonly respond exactly to their plan and desire. It is because we always ignore the teachings of Islam, we should be patient and united. Allah (SWT) says: “You will surely be tested in your possessions and in yourselves. And you will surely hear from those who were given the Scripture before you and from those who associate others with Allah much abuse. But if you are patient and fear Allah – indeed, that is of the matters [worthy] of determination.” (Al- Imran 3:186) Understanding our own failure: In spite of having all natural resources and a multiple number we are not successful. It is because we are failed to present the actual and real characteristics that our beloved Prophet (PBUH) has and treat the people with. He (PBUH) never built the Islamic empire with numbers and money rather he (PBUH) won the hearts of the people by the standard of his characters and we failed to act the same way. As Muslims we should love our Prophet (PBUH) and study his biography, convey the Message of Islam to others and act upon the teachings of Islam both by words and actions. We should avoid and stay away from such gatherings where they insult our beloved Prophet (PBUH). Allah (SWT) says: “And when you (Muhammad SAW) see those who engage in a false conversation about Our Verses (of the Quran) by mocking at them, stay away from them till they turn to another topic. And if Shaitan (Satan) causes you to forget, then after the remembrance sit not you in the company of those people who are the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).” (Al-Anam 6:68). Such insult is not a new thing: The pagan and polytheists of Makkah used to mock and insult the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) all the time. As we know that during the Islamic empire extended the number of people insulting our beloved (PBUH) increased. Abdullah bin Ubyy bin Salool (the head of hypocrites) is a clear example of that but the Prophet (PBUH) or his rightly-guided Companions never lost their focus. They carry out the duty and spread the Message of Islam. Insulting is the nature of disbelief: Disbelievers always insulted our beloved Prophet (PBUH) throughout the history and are insulting because it is their nature and they will never give it up. Even they insult Allah (SWT) by ascribing partners to Him, claiming that Jesus (AS) is the son of Allah and denying the True Message of Islam. Our problem will never be solved by blaming them rather we should spread more awareness about Islam to remove disbelief.
