How to Recognise an Abusive Church. There are many pple that are shackled to systems and held hostage by self seeking leaders. Trust me I was victim to this jezebel system many years ago. I hope that by you honestly answering these questions you will be able to free yourself. Is your leader obsessed with his position or title? 2. A leader that is obsessed with his position will constantly have the need to assert as "who is the boss". This comes from being insecure. 3. Is there constant call for money in your church? 4. Is the Prosperity message taken to the extreme? 5. Is the church encouraged to take loans for the " so called work of the ministry and Pastors ministry trips"? 6. Are people of affluence (riches) elevated above the poor? 7. Are business people given positions based on their riches rather than their callings? 8. Are the rich considered more spiritual than the poor? 9. When ask questions about the finances, does the leader respond with anger and threats? Are healthy family relationships encouraged in your church? 10. Are there clicks in your church? 11. Is more attention given to social events rather than spiritual? 12. Is your church overly tolerant with those living in sin, especially those in leadership? 13. Are feelings, dreams and visions given pre- eminence over the word of God? 14. Is talent more important than character in your church? 15. Are you taught that your church is the only church with right doctrine, and that other churches are all wrong? 16. Are you discouraged from fellowshipping with other churches? 17. Does your Pastor advise by scripture or command you with authority? 18. Is your church experience liberating or Do you feel controlled and condemned? 19. Do you go to church for fear of the leadership or are you happy to be in the presence of God?
