How to love Allah? How to express our love to Allah, the Most - TopicsExpress

How to love Allah? How to express our love to Allah, the Most Exalted? How to gain His love in order to turn it into a mutual one; to ensure that we love Him and He loves us? The Holy Quran quotes the Messenger (p.) saying: If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your faults, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (3:31) This Ayah indicates that the pious person should express his love to Allah by believing in His Prophet and following the Message, and through obeying the Prophet, abiding by his orders, leaving what he prohibits and obeying all what Allah has revealed to him, because that is the vivid expression of the practical love that fills his whole entity. In this way, Allah will love the pious person because He, the Most Exalted, loves those who are pious, truthful, charitable, devout, and are sincere to Him and to His Prophet. A man said to the Prophet (p.): What should I do in order to gain Allahs love. The Prophet (p.) replied: Love what Allah and His Prophet love and detest what Allah and His Prophet detest. Jesus Christ (p.) said when he was asked about a single act that makes one inherit Allahs love: Detest life in this world and Allah will love you. What is meant here is that man should not become immersed in loving the world which will make him forget the responsibilities that Allah had ordered him to hold, but he has to look at the world in its reality, in which it represents a place for obeying Allah. He should realize that life is a place for the movement of the responsibility, and he must not turn it to a fertile ground for disobedience, nor a reality for distraction, abuse, and untruth. Prophet Mohammad (p.) also said: The one who frequently mentions death, Allah will love him. Hence, remembering death reveals to man that the world will perish and that he will come to meet the Hereafter, so he holds his responsibilities in obeying Allah, the Most Exalted. Imam Jafar Assadiq (a.s.) said: I asked for Allahs Love and I found it in detesting the people of wrongdoing. What is meant here is to detest their deeds of disobeying Allah, rebelling against Him, and insisting on that. Allah’s Love is Attained by Following the Messenger : Tafseer Ibn Kathir Tafseer Ibn Kathir Surah 3 : Ale Imraan : (31. Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah, then follow me (i.e. Muhammad), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”) (32. Say: “Obey Allah and the Messenger.” But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers.) This honorable Ayah judges against those who claim to love Allah, yet do not follow the way of Muhammad . Such people are not true in their claim until they follow the Shari`ah (Law) of Muhammad and his religion in all his statements, actions and conditions. It is recorded in the Sahih that the Messenger of Allah said, (Whoever commits an act that does not conform with our matter (religion), then it will be rejected of him.) This is why Allah said here, (Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you…”) meaning, what you will earn is much more than what you sought in loving Him, for Allah will love you. Al-Hasan Al-Basri and several scholars among the Salaf commented, “Some people claimed that they love Allah. So Allah tested them with this Ayah; (Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you…”). ” Allah then said, (“And forgive you your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”) meaning, by your following the Messenger , you will earn all this with the blessing of his mission. Allah next commands everyone, (Say: “Obey Allah and the Messenger.” But if they turn away) by defying the Prophet , (then Allah does not like the disbelievers.) thus, testifying that defiance of the Messenger’s way constitutes Kufr. Indeed, Allah does not like whoever does this, even if he claims that he loves Allah and seeks a means of approach to Him, unless, and until, he follows the unlettered Prophet, the Final Messenger from Allah to the two creations: mankind and the Jinn. This is the Prophet who, if the previous Prophets and mighty Messengers were to have been alive during his time, they would have no choice but to follow, obey him, and to abide by his Law.
