How unexpected, on a morning jog walk, I almost stepped on some chicks as it was somewhat dark. 3 baby chicks were in front looking for Mom. And then I saw the hen do what all mothers do, protect her babies. I watched in awe as they flocked across the sidewalk to her to get under her body. I laughed to myself at the end as all I could see were 2 little pairs of feet still showing under her girth.... I think there were at least 12 chicks. Black and yellow. So cute and fun, spying in nature
