How was your day? I’m glad you asked. I was a little rushed as I entered the building and hurriedly threw my lunch in the fridge, eager to face the day. Things were going well until lunch time, when I grabbed by bag and realized that I had mistakenly thrown my beautiful red ripe tomatoes (I never eat just one) INTO THE FRIDGE. What to do now? I thought about trying to heat them up a bit, but could not even imagine eating them stone cold. Ruined my whole lunch and the afternoon too! I hope to be asked (by my wife) to be a guest columnist for her local weekly newspaper article. If so, I plan to write about my favorite vegetable/fruit (whatever you want to call it). I am asking my FB friends to help me with a little research; I contend that tomatoes are the number one item fruit grown in almost every vegetable garden. Here goes: 1) Tomatoes should always be kept nice and cold in the fridge until just before slicing- 2) Tomatoes should never, under ANY circumstance come near a fridge, and should be kept at room temperature until read to slice. 3) What’s the big deal about tomatoes anyway? That is the only question, and I hope I made my answer clear. If you want to respond I would appreciate it. I don’t even want to broach the subject about what kind of mayonnaise you prefer. Along with What kind is my last question: (This is a True/False question) 4) The more mayonnaise you use, the better the sandwich. True/False I used to live by this one, until I finished taking the “Get Healthy, Live Well” diabetes prevention class. Now I still believe it, I just don’t ACT ON IT.
