How was your day yesterday ? Maybe you were enjoying the time you had off work spending it with family and friends. Maybe you were working and counting down the hours until you finished. Or maybe you were lucky enough to enjoy a walk in the mountains or maybe even dive in the ocean. Maybe you were working hard to finish that final report that you still havent got round to finishing. Maybe you didnt do anything and just enjoyed a nice relaxing day. ..... For this Olive Ridley yesterday marked the day that weeks of suffering in silence finally came to an end. Thanks to Mohamed Misbaah, from aqua sports Kuramathi Island Resort who found the Olive Ridley entangled and worked quickly to rescue it. Unfortunately it had been entangled for some time and is now suffering from deep lacerations around the flipper caused by its attempts to free itself and also buoyancy issues most likely caused through stress. It is now being closely monitored and we all hope it can be released very shortly. Unfortunately there are many more turtles out there falling victims to Ghost nets, the majority go unnoticed and experience a slow and painful death.. We as humans were one of the last species to have evolved yet we think this is our planet to exploit as we see fit. Make sure you buy Tuna that is caught by pole and line and help put a stop to Ghost nets.
