How we have progressed in law from an eye for an eye....to dolus eventualis and dolus directus> we are filled with revulsion when we are confronted with people beheading others in the name of justice and religion and yet, when the law takes its cause in the 21st century and the outcome does not suit us we yearn to apply that medieval form of justice just to satisfy our blood thirstiness>did judge Masipa interpret the law correctly?>the experts appear to be divided on the matter while the armchair judges are convinced that she has erred>fortunately, the judgement was unanimous, which means the two assessors must take collective responsibility for the judgement> moreover, the law provides remedies if it is so, that the judge has erred> the NPA can appeal her judgement, but i suspect that this will not happen.
