How would you characterize a rogue state? If the government of a country turned against its own citizens, what would you expect to see happening? Would that government spy on all of its citizens around the clock, and legally justify such an action on the grounds that any one of them might be a terrorist? Would such an administration use the official powers of the state to covertly and illegally suppress its political opposition during an election? Would the tyrants attempt to disarm the populace, in whole or in part? And if all of this were possible, what do you suppose could have caused it? Perhaps a prolonged era of severe unemployment and political instability as the citizenry grow increasingly resentful of their president?
