Your latest Storm Team 29 7-Day Forecast for all of Central VA & the Shen. Valley: Another big March temperature swing is set to unfold as we move through the weekend, along with a developing winter storm to watch. We will see a warm, breezy Saturday, as a surge of cooler air will be delayed until Sunday. Canadian high pressure builds down from the north Sunday, bringing a northeast wind and colder temps. Areas of low pressure look to bring wintry precipitation to the area Sunday PM into Monday. Initially this activity will start as rain, but we should see a change to snow and sleet from say 2pm-5pm in the valley, and 5pm-8pm east of the Blue Ridge. Snow, with some sleet mixed will go through the overnight into Monday sunrise with the intensity tapering as we go past sunrise Monday. Right now, thinking anywhere from 3-6 for much of the viewing area with the potential for some spots to see more than 6, certainly across the higher terrain and the Shen. Valley. Slight adjustments in storm track and the strength and speed of the cold air building in are still possible. This could lead to changes in the expected amounts so stay tuned! Another coastal low pressure system could bring some wintry weather back into the area Monday Night into Tuesday but high uncertainty remains with that part of the forecast. Today: Early clouds but mostly sunny overall, warm and breezy, highs 61-66. Tonight: Clear skies to start, partly cloudy late, lows 34-38. Sunday: Mostly cloudy, cooler, PM rain, mixing with and changing to snow/sleet, highs 39-44 early. Monday: Cloudy with snow and perhaps some sleet, highs 29-32. Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance for snow, sleet, freezing rain, chilly, highs 32-36. Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs 47-51. Thursday: Mostly sunny, highs 52-56. Friday: Mostly sunny, highs 56-60.
