Howdy Friends! ~ Morning sparkled as crisp as the air. Low temperatures for a late day in July brought alive bird song that had been stifled by heat for too many days. A playful wren busily frisking rafters, corners and nooks for hidden morsels chirped and chattered unable to hold in check her glee. Swarms of hummingbirds squeaked, zoomed and buzzed darting wildly at their feeders. Some distance from the barn, hidden in the dense undergrowth, a Towhee suggested we all, Drink Your Tea, his lyrical call bouncing from the weathered barn siding. Guinea chickens set up a resounding clatter dashing here there and nowhere, and back again. So boisterous were they that Kessy was forced to forego her hay to investigate whatever might be causing all that excitement. Roosters perched on the half wall ordered the sun higher, crowing in unison until indeed the sun obeyed. Saturday snored by my chair. Kessy gave up her exploration and returned to me, and her hay. I thanked God for the glorious morning, and poured another cup. Have a lovely day ~ Gitty Up, Dutch
