Howdy Guys I am setting up a Ubuntu Server for home use its going to be a file server / FTP / Media that kind of thing. Now from a security perspective after the initial install what are the first security rules / changes you implement? I dont need Area 51 security here :), Some of the stuff I am already looking at is Disabling root access through SSH possibly changing the port number, Setting up ufw and app armor leaving the root account disabled and setting up a user which is a member of sudoers anymore useful suggestions? deny hosts?
