Huge congratulations to Amanda Wright who has raised £900 so far after completing a 54-mile bike ride from London to Brighton in memory of her father. Garry Wright, 61, died on 14th May this year – just a month after he was diagnosed with primary bone cancer. Nursery nurse Amanda, 27, said she really enjoyed the ride, even reaching Ditchling Beacon – the second highest point in the South Downs National Park. “The bike ride went really well and much better than I expected, completing all 54 miles with no injuries and in nice weather! “The atmosphere was really good and I really enjoyed myself. The Ditchling Beacon was absolutely insane as expected, but the view from the top was well worth it!” Amanda said she was spurred on to do the cycle ride to raise vital funds and awareness after what happened to her father. “He died a month after he was diagnosed with bone cancer and six days after he found out it was terminal. “We thought he’d have six months to a year to live and we were still getting our heads round that when he passed away. ” A huge thank you to Amanda and everyone who supported her with the cycle ride – we are proud to have you in Team Bones!
