Huge thanks to everyone who voted - especially those who voted for me! Im blown away that Im the 2nd-highest polling candidate and we all await Mayor Bill Daltons decisions regarding committee chairmanships and who will be his Deputy Mayor - and yes, Ive put my hand up for that & to also to be Chair of the Community Development Committee! Unfortunately my election happiness was rather short-lived on Saturday night though. My 23yr old son phoned me to find out the election results and when I asked where he was he said, Um..Wellesley Road..Ive got a broken jaw & theyre sending me to Hastings. WTF?!! Unprovoked attack by a total neanderthal who not only king hit him with no warning, thus breaking his jaw, despite my son being out cold on the floor this thug kept going, 15 punches to a broken face. Result - massive lower jaw break and the hinge is smashed & hanging on by a tooth, literally. Initially we were told the op to plate it all together again would be yesterday, but at 6pm they said it was postponed until today, scheduled for some time after 12-noon FOR SURE, PROMISE. Well that was a bloody Tui advt - my son is STILL waiting to have the surgery that will put his twice-broken jaw back in place!! As for the thug who did this ... the cops will be comin aknocking...I have his name, I know where he works, I know his friggin parents - theres nowhere for him to hide!! Thanks must go to the mates that helped my son though - especially the one who drove him to Wellesley Road Health Centre, who then drove him to Hastings Hospital when Wellesley Road staff told him to, who also stayed with my son until I got there - Ryan youre a good mate and a hero and Im eternally grateful you were there for my son when he really needed you.
