Huisman Runs for 283 Yards, Scores 5 TDs as Chargers Win By Craig Olson - Onamia, MN Brandon-Evansville hit the road as the number five seed in the Section 4 9-Man football playoffs on Tuesday and brought home a convincing 50-14 win over number four, Onamia. The Panthers had no answer for the running attack of the Chargers, led by a monster night from James Huisman who ran for 283 yards on 26 carries, reaching the end zone five times. McKenon plaster added 56 yards on 5 attempts and also caught a 26 yard TD pass from quarterback Tom Bosek. Bosek (3-5, 89 yards) also connected with Skyler Quinn (2 receptions, 63 yards) on a 44 yard scoring toss. “The offensive line played great tonight and made some huge holes for our backs to run through,” assessed Head Coach Tim Pattrin. “Tom threw the ball well when we gave him the opportunity and made smart decisions.” B-E scored just 2:30 into the game when Huisman ran the ball in from 17 yards out. They made it 14-0 at the eight minute mark of the first quarter on a 9 yard run by Huisman and a two point conversion pass from Bosek to Plaster. In the second quarter, Huisman found the end zone for a third time, this time carrying the ball in from six yards out. Bosek then hit Plaster from 26 yards and Huisman ran in the conversion with five minutes left in the half to make the score, 28-0. Onamia got a one yard run from sophomore Preston Strelow with 2:30 remaining, cutting the B-E lead to 28-6. Huisman’s fourth touchdown of the half came with 30 seconds left as he scored from 13 yards out. Bosek and Plaster connected on the conversion pass and the Chargers took a commanding 36-6 lead into the locker room at halftime. Brandon-Evansville wasted no time adding to their lead when Bosek hit Quinn with a 44 yard aerial with 8 minutes left in the third quarter. Huisman took the ball into the end zone for the conversion points which gave the visitors a 44-6 lead. Three minutes later it was Huisman on a 25 yard run to kick the lead up to 50-6. Onamia added a fourth quarter TD on a 20 yard run by junior Nate Strelow and a two point conversion on a pass from Sheldon Rothbauer to Del Guerrero with ten minutes left in the game, putting the final score at 50-14. Brandon-Evansville finished the night with 425 yards rushing and 89 yards passing for a total of 5154 yards. They also had 26 first downs. Defensively, Quinn had an interception and Plaster recovered a pair of fumbles, while leading the team with 7.5 tackles. Onamia finished with 275 rushing yards and 370 yards of total offense. B-E will now travel to Verndale on Saturday for a Section 4 9-Man semifinal contest.
