Human (capital C) culture is fractally nested. There is no human - TopicsExpress

Human (capital C) culture is fractally nested. There is no human endeavour unworthy of exploration. Morality aside, good or bad, to those doing the exploring, its always justified... Whether its commodities markets, immunology, fast food marketing, death metal, energy production, outsider art... you name it, there will always be a new angle to explore, a new way of seeing problems, a new combination, a new potential, a new reward. As impossible as that may seem, it is only because the human mind is a universe unto itself that its capable of such profundity. Just as all the glory and diversity of the natural world stems from the recombination of four simple nucleotides, so too has man created a universe within his mind, and builds upon its triumphs and failings through oral and written tradition. It is an optimists view that there is no end to what we can achieve, Im a little more grounded. But even still, the possibilities are tantalizing. Like an explorer traversing a frozen strait, or sailing to a horizon with no land in sight, the unknown has long been mans propulsion through the ages... It is easy to feel complacent in an age of convenience; it is indeed hard work to feel the opposite. To be enticed by a challenge, to be spurred onward by failure. Entertain every idea you ever get. Give it a voice, if only momentarily, selection will prune away the missteps, but youll give life to the good ones, and learn along the way. Truly, in a cartesian sense; to an idea, if you are thought, indeed, you are.
