Humanity has No Bounds - Imam Zaid Shakir (Bradford) There is boundlessness indifference to human suffering in the world and as Muslims we can be just as indifferent to it. There should be no bounds to our humanity, no bounds to our mercy and no bounds to how open hearts can be with love. In the Quran, Allah and His beloved Prophet ﷺ remind us at the start of each Surah (except for Surah Tawbah), the Basmallah, of the theme of unlimited mercy. Our essential nature is mercy not murder. Murder in itself is an innovation. Our focus as a community should be on the big bidahs (innovation) that hurt and harm other people. We should question ourselves on, How hard are we as Muslims working to avoid that prohibition?. It is tearing lives and communities apart. We have a responsibility to not confine ourself and look at things that go beyond ourselves. Our collective future is under threat. If the suffering goes unaddressed, it will in one way or another come back to us. You cannot ignore it and expect it to disappear as it will come back to us. We need to move to realm of the righteous and take advantage of doing something to alleviate the suffering of people We live in a world of mechanised warfare and this is about perpetuating the state quo. The Prophet ﷺ prayed for the most bitterest of his enemies . His mercy knows no bounds and encouraged us to be merciful also. As God reminds us, Be merciful to the one on earth so God is merciful to you. *Please Like & Share*
